8 Days of Input

Dear Friends,

Marina and I have been invited to an 8-day learning event starting later today (Dec 3-11.)
We believe that it will be extremely valuable for the future of our ministry. In particular we are drawn to learn about 3 aspects under discussion:

1) rediscovering church as a missional community,
2) families on mission with God, and
3) 'Church' from the book of Acts.

(As a bonus we will be led in worship by one of South Africa's top worship leaders - Retief Burger)

Would you please pray that our minds & our spirits will be open for what God has in store for us?

Archie & Marina van der Byl

About...

My Photo
I (Archie) have had an awesome life so far! My parents are the real deal! Thanks Dad, thanks Mom, for the gr8 foundation u gave me in life. High School was a bit of a disaster - mostly because I thought I was smart enough to run my own life. How arrogant... Thankfully that changed when I gave back control of my life to a 'MuCh HiGhEr PoWeR' in 1987. From '87- '97 the University of Pretoria was my 2nd home - originally as a student, but later as pastor of a fantastic church: Doxa Deo.
Marina & I got married in 1997. [Yeah!!] That same year we moved to California, USA where we lived until the end of 2004. Austen (our son) was born in 2000 and Kaylee (our daughter) was born in 2002. Towards the end of my studies @ Fuller, we connected with the Navigators & by 2005 we were back to South Africa with a focus on 1-on-1 discipleship -figuring out what it means to be a follower of Jesus & helping others to do the same. Lately we have been serving in ministry with All Nations. The journey continues & we're curios to see what the future might bring...
