Galatians 2:20 Conference

{Pic: @ University of the Western Cape
- on our way to Conference @ Franschhoek.}

Q: So Archie, how did it go?
A: In short: I felt like a kid in a candy store :-) !!

The conversations went deep.

The worship/ 'choir rehearsals' were awesome.

The games - plenty of fun.

The talks & workshops: well done to Bruce, Felix, Hunja, Sisanda, (& yours truly really enjoyed sharing about the life of an Insider. Hopefully someone found something beneficial in there)

The Table Tennis: "Phuti, thanks for letting me win that one game" You rock!

The guys' post-midnight pillow-talk... very loud & extremely enlightening.

The ladies' multilingual song about Jesus being on the throne: SWEET!

The PEOPLE......... WOW!!
What a privilege to be a part of such an excellent group of co-laborers for the King!

& some comments from our participants:

The speakers' talks weren't just theory; they spoke out of Experience.
I am now more prepared for God's work & have a clearer picture of God's big picture. -Kudzai-

For me it meant a lot, more on a relational side.
I feel supported & encouraged, knowing people that have the same struggles that I have. -Takadzani-

The Bible Studies; Yes!
It's not what the church or other people expect from me.
What matters is what God expects from me.
I also enjoyed being with people that have similar experiences in an environment where i don't feel judged.
-learning new songs- -Ngami-

Bruce's talk on God's Will: The Scriptures are always relevant.
-being with these people is great! -Peter N-

Everything that was said was referenced from the Bible, so I can go back home & find what was said straight from the Bible.
Memorizing Scripture: very meaningful. -Zethu-

Putting Christ where He is supposed to be, @ the centre of my life.
The Prayer & Scripture memory workshops were very meaningful. -Mark-

-bumping into someone I'v been looking for but couldn't get a hold of-
Felix's talk on what the Navigators is about, was great.
Why? It was said in the light of people's lives; people that I know and can identify with.
It makes God's Vision accessible. -Sisanda-

I like to think about the future a lot.
The "God's will"- talk was very meaningful in that regard. I don't have to wait for a thunder/lightning bolt to make decisions. It's much easier than I thought. It's right there in the Scriptures. -Tutu-

Fellowshipping with people who all fight & struggle 4 God's vision.
I would make the camp title: "It's not about me." -Desiree-

Bruce's Magic :-) -Takane-

Thank you so much to everyone that made this weekend possible:
Tricia, for the back-breaking work, sorting out the practicalities; Mercy, I think you & Felix are guilty here as well :-)
-to Christo for getting that basketball-hoop up in time.
-to Heinrich for the bus.
-to everyone that rocked up with an open mind & spirit for God's input!
-to the musicians: Desiree, Tutu, Eddie, for practicing, prepping the handouts (Desiree) & everyone else (Sadie) that brought their voices & hearts along to the 'choir rehearsals'.
-to the Speakers & workshop leaders for setting time aside preparing your talks.
-to my kids for behaving well :-)

But most of all I thank God for blessing us with his presence & his eternal love!

Now, let's translate all our discussions on Galatians 2:20 into our everyday lives...

I have been crucified with Christ
and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.
The life I live in the body,
I live by faith in the Son of God,
who loved me and gave himself for me.

Give yourself away & in doing so: show, sow & share God's love!

Bruce Vanwyk from Colorado Springs

Yesterday, we were honored to have Bruce Vanwyk on campus.
Bruce has been following Jesus for more than 40 years & it is because of him that I ended up with the Navigators.
While we were living in Los Angeles, California, we became friends with his daughter Sonja & her husband Marshall.
For 3 years Sonja kept saying: "you guys will make perfect Navigators."
Bruce invited us to the Navigators headquarters in Colorado Springs - to come & see what the Navs are all about.
The rest is history...

Thanks Bruce for being a man of God!
